The user interface used for systems developed using the platform has also progressed over the years - from simple Character-based screens to Windows based and now to Browser based applications. The advantage of using the latest browser user interface apart from the modern look and feel, includes that they can be instantly deployed, and are much simpler to support and maintain - no exe's anymore!

We have started to migrate many of our clients' systems from Caché to IRIS and can offer this service to InterSystems customers looking to migrate to IRIS from their current system.

We have staff experienced in both back-end systems (for our ERP solution) and front end systems (for eCommerce sites we develop), many of which we host and manage on IRIS / Caché platforms at our data centre.
Migrating To Intersystems Iris Made Easy

Our process is made easy using the following steps:

  1. We analyse your current system to determine if IRIS will support all the current development, systems and integrations to identify any changes that are required.
  2. We apply changes to your staging system (if you have one, or we can build one) and test the current system to ensure no new issues have been introduced.
  3. We will then migrate your staging system so that your live operation is not disrupted and can be used for testing.
  4. We would help test all inputs and outputs from simple applications and printing to more complex integration you may have with 3rd party systems and solutions.
  5. Once this is proven and timings determined we would arrange a live migration, scheduled as appropriate with you and any 3rd parties.
  6. We would then monitor the new IRIS system for any issues which would be addressed immediately by M-tech, with the backup of Intersystems.
